Biography
I live in Liverpool and work as a writer and poet. I'm a Royal Literary Fund Fellow and was commissioned by Culture Liverpool to be Writer-in-Residence for The People of Anfield Project (2023-25) with Emma Case, photographer-in-residence. My pamphlet 'The Weight of Snow' won the 2021 Saboteur Award for best poetry pamphlet. I gained a PhD from Liverpool University in 2019 and have an MA in Creative Arts. I was the first writer-in-residence with Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool from 2016 – 2019. I worked as poet-in-residence with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust from 2013 – 2020. I've worked as a writer in health and community settings since 2004 and as an HE Tutor at the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University. I'm currently a Tutor in Continuing Education at the University of Liverpool.
