They look at me, peers and enemies alike
Looking like they always want to fight, out of spite
I sometimes wonder what they see when they look at me with envy
Is it my sexiness that offends, does my Blackness cause you dismay?

I know there is a mirror of me that is reflective of the woman I want to be
I know there is a mirror of me that is reflective of the person I strive to be
I want to always look into the mirror and see things crystal clear
My heart is the mirror revealing the truths that I hold dear
In my heart and soul I know the mirror can never be perfected
