Long Goodbye
The ice retreated from the north /
out of season / feet first /
drowning islands / continents
sinking lives / livihoods.
There is no link.
Towns underneath ice rivers /
screaming in fear /
Rewriting the past / melting the future.
saying goodbye to our lives
burying everything into the waves/
after we left.
