Mistletoe In The Cellar
conceived in a cellar, of
a Tommy home on leave,
mother waving mistletoe,
shortly she would grieve
official dad inert upstairs

Tommy back to trenches
bullets or forced marches

I left Mabel to look after the plumber
A token of my trust in one so new
My ex-girlfriend rang on the land line
And Mabel saw red, her fuses blew
When I got home the bathroom was smashed
My new peach bidet lay in bits on the floor
No sign of Mabel, just her handiwork
