Betjeman slam at Wantage festival

entry picture

A poetry slam is planned as one of the attractions at a festival celebrating Sir John Betjeman’s long associations with the Oxfordshire town of Wantage from 11-17 September. There are also poetry workshops and readings featuring Jane Draycott, Ros Barber, and Valerie Laws, plus a host of other literary events, as well as a teddy bears’ picnic and a silver band.  The slam – we’re sure the great man would have approved – is on Monday 12 September at 7.30 pm at Shush, The Regent Mall, Newbury St, Wantage. Entry £5.
