Very strong imagery.
A tragedy and then a return to normality.
A poem I will remember.

Having commented via an initial reading of these lines, I have now
listened to RP's audio and it provides embellishment to the evocative
poetical imagery of the text. Quality stuff.

Fred - MANY thanks for this - reminding me of the sort of thing I
seem to recall from my childhood radio (out of "Music Hall"?)
entertainments. This is right up my Christmas street - even here
"dahn south"!!
Have a top Christmas - with or without the bells.

Thanks Mark. Quite right... Enjoy the Xmas break.
Hannah, There is indeed a mystical element to all seasons and in the observation of them too. You of all poets would know that. Thanks for your support this year!
Brian, Jon Anya and Avishek, thank you all for the likes. Have nice Xmases.

I can relate to this. Twin flames are supposes to teach each other and reunite when they have both worked on their own soul healing. An interesting concept... but it is true some people we are destined to meet and not forget and maybe theres a reason for that ....

Hi Don
I appreciate the time taken to leave a comment on Brexit TV.
I'm useless at critiquing, and write (as I think you may) pretty much to entertain myself.
I doubt I'll ever be a 'poet', but enjoy the occasional recital.
The major benefit from writing and reciting poems is that I met my wife through WOL

What would Dickens say if he returned and saw all these poverty stricken people on the streets ?
Shameful situation.
Well done.

You raise a good point Ray. I guess I was attempting to see scrooge reflecting as at the end of a Christmas Carol That he can changes his ways and not take on the ghost of Jacob Marley. I always like to see a chink of hope in any possible scenario. Of course some may call me just plain naïve. But anyway I hope that may throw some light upon this piece.
A very Happy Christmas to you my friend and thanks for all your support over the year

Compliments of the Season to you, Po. Thanks for commenting so
positively. This is one I wrote a while ago but I feel the content to
be relevant every year - and whilst not religious in the man-made
sense, I do believe there is more to this existence than we can know
- and on that basis I am happy to use the birth of Christ and its
story to pursue that belief. Hope springs eternal.

Just like you had a poem in storage
To bring out on this rainy day
I'll also keep this one in my storehouse
I'll still be rhyming then, no decay
I'm pleased you're still alert, still attentive
You noticed the year twenty twenty eight
Which means I can re-post this poem
But we'll all have ten years for to wait ?

Give this poet an idea
And he'll be hooked for life
Rhyming words of wisdom
Rhyming words of strife
Every idea's an adventure
Each one leads to next
Curiosity in him flourishes
Boundaries get stretched
Romancing words (it comforts him)
He looks upon his screen
Discovers there are other
Poets just as keen
(one idea leads to the next....)
?
