Thanks for the kind comments on 'The Dark & The Light' Stu - apologies for my slow response - not been on the site much recently. Yes - he was thought to be indestructible - which just goes to show that we are all frail things really. Not sure if it got across the fact that his light was chasing Lemmy's darkness down the road of death - but he was equally iconic and, in some cases, seemed even more invulnerable. A sad week for rock music indeed.

It's defo about toy soldiers but when I was 25/26 with friends of same age and we were all unemployed and got into table top games for a time. I was always attracted to Napoleonic history and little plastic men so it grew from there. Painting their uniforms. The first draft of this poem was just about history, but corny, so I adapted it to represent the games we played drunk and wrecked on other things and visits to war games. The last lines are meant to be ambivalent and confuse. Gentlemen officers were us crew and the last line is something we often thought about - wars becoming games to save life.

It still needs a bit of ork.

I brought the sentence "Virginal beauty" to make things vivid for ray ,the person who asked for further explanation.
By the way don't you know that both men and women pass through a similar faith?
Psychologists tell us that the biological clock is not only meant for women.Most men could also suffer impotence after 40. Brose and read a book entitled Sex Power Before and After 40.Your masculine vigour is at its height when you are young.
Also psychologists tell us that except the red flag boys experience almost a similar feeling of depression as their girl friends. I call others who read about this issue to comment on it.
Compare your photos.Obviously you were at the peak when you were young.
By the way the word virgin could be used to mention a new experience.
Once on BBC I had heard a figurative person participating in marathon organized for philanthropic purpose saying "I am a Marathon virgin!"
In literature too I have learnt that writers who are not native speakers are more sensitive to words and expressions than the native ones and as such it is no surprise for the former to outsmart the latter at times. Here also experts on the domain could add something.
This blog is meant for learning from each other and brainstorming but not for mockery.I have learnt a lot from other blogs too,.
