If I was to get into stereotyping, and blaming all of a peer group for crimes committed by a minority within that group, then the Metropolitan Police wouldn't come out too well.
And that's despite them covering up for rapes and murders commited by their cronies.
But I won't do that because I know better than to stereotype.

I agree with the content. As you note, the situation is well known here in the US and on the rise. Funny how observations which can be easily be proven can be considered borderline 'hate speech'. And - as a former policeman - I suspect you have a pretty good line on UK crime statistics.

Comments noted - thanks.
"Imported" crime has always been a problem in Western countries. Indeed, in America it reached such levels that it has
become known as "Organised Crime" and is an unwelcome
malaise in US society. In the UK, we have our own history,
with the likes of the Messina brothers, Peter Rachman and
assorted notorious gangsters, against whom public awareness
and stringent action served to be largely effective - but not
totally within a free society. The huge influx of unchecked uncontrolled migration carries its own reality. An information
request made by a prominent author/historian on YouTube
obtained a worrying number of names far removed from
expected/local origins involved in crime. To consider any
attempt to address this phenomenon in the context of modern
Britain and a safe cohesive society as "hate crime" is arguably
being complicit in what is being done - and by whom.. It
that position helpful towards providing prevention and
solutions? I think not.

Great piece, Greg. The elephant in the room is tax. Politicians of all hues are frightened to death to mention raising them. I for one would gladly pay another 2, 3, 5 (Whatever) pence in the £ more to sustain the NHS, one of this nation’s finest achievements.

I'm coming to a time in my life when I need to be resolving conflicts, not inflaming them.
So, after some reflection, I have voluntarily edited out my previous comment (and some others), troubled as I am by the anger of my reactions to the comments of other contributors.

This article is not about me, and my disagreements; it's about a piece of excellent poetry which concerns the safety and welcoming of refugees coming to our shores; they should be our primary concern.

I offer my sincere apologies to any whom I have offended

Uilleam - Thanks, I take your point, and we must always be vigilant. But, at the same time, everything is relative.

MC - In this case, the truth landed on a restaurant and killed 13 people, injuring many more. It is also true that among the victims was a noted writer and poet. For the rest, I don't really have any comment.

Their ancient animosities the stuff of legend and fable.
Unable to be civil, they resort to civil war
And the innocent always suffer - now just as before.

Ah...truth. That most elusive and ephemeral visitor to our
minds. Do you not wonder why politicians rarely mention the
word. It is because it can mean different things to different
people in varying circumstances. Propaganda is often the
exaggeration, even the distortion, of "truth". Its value (power)
lies (no pun intended) in its close affinity with "truth" in many minds. Look in the mirror. Do you see what others see? Or do
you see what YOU see? Which is true? Or are both true in
their own way?

We ought also to bear in mind that attempts to "shut up"

Terribly sad that another writer and poet has fallen victim to Russia's barbarism. I penned a few lines yesterday in my poem 'Writers':

'They’re coming for the writers now;
They’ll take out poets one by one.
These tellers of the awkward truths,
Who show them up for what they are,
Appear to constitute fair game
For slingshots scrounged from death’s bazaar.'

Culture must survive. Without culture, there is nothing.
