Martin, I think sometimes of how this street of celebrity runs both ways--there are those who sell and those who buy.
I mean, we each, here on WoL could be considered sellers of a sort--what would it be like to be for any one of us to be stalked by the full power of national media?
Really, I believe it has every bit as much to do with appetite as what's displayed on the menu...
Thanks for the nudge, Martin.

Thanks to Brian and Anya for liking and thanks To Sal and David for commenting.
I shall look up that Quote Sal thank you
David you are not far wrong in your comments. Maybe I am just getting to be a moaning old man but I really do tire of this whole notion of celebrity that some people seem to place so much value in.
Love to all

Actually, MC, this is not a re-post. This one is about Ken Dodd’s dog’s dad. The original was about Ken Dodd’s dad’s dog. (Original below).
An easy mistake to make!

Some fear being alone. Clearly, you are free from this concern.
Solitude is a welcome thing when it is welcome! Being content in
one's own company is a blessing beyond price.

An understandable "take" on the current state of politics here in the
UK. But, as Churchill observed, the existing entity is better that the
alternative...a bit like life and death!
The really regrettable aspect is that much of what is being witnessed
now is the result of elected politicians forgetting their proper job of
remembering where they get their power from and setting out on a
course that persuades them to believe they have the "right" to give
that power away without explaining what they're up to.
Imagine any government minister telling constituents "Thanks for the
power you've invested in us. We're now going to give that away to
others you didn't vote for so they can make decisions that affect
your lives. Sorry - what was that? Did you say 'You must be joking'? Well. actually, don't tell anyone - but we're serious."

Love it. I've been there, mostly when I was a kid, sometimes these things hit you when you can't deal with them; when you 'grow up' you are not afraid any more but circumstances and life get in the way.
Some you win....etc.

the fact that you won

only sulking is not
any fun either
I confess I do not know
where to go from here
your poem started it.

I particularly liked the fifth stanza with its sense of desperation and urgency. I'm shocked to learn that there's really such a thing as office sexual conduct training. A well-deserved poem of the week.

Interesting. Read your poem many times. I am getting different reactions. Unfortunately I have experienced the "huntress" that just wants to be taken care of. Twice been left for that type.
I have come to the wonderful place of acceptance. I have lost that desperate aching need for a mate. I hope it never returns.
I agree with M.C. The good old days of the forever mate seems to be unpopular. The world appears impatient. Taking the time to travel the mountains and valleys of relationships is something few are willing to do. Reboot and start over is the dance I see happening. I must admit that makes me sad.

So sorry for your loss Douglas.
My little guy has been diagnosed with heart issues so each day is precious. I so adore him but he is a pill lol. I think God made him cute so people are willing to put up with some of his antics.
I will miss him dearly when it is his time and wish I was still dealing with his quirky behavior.
