Kevin, I am a writer! I write on all topics and some are more gritty than others. Please do not worry about me! I am a very happy woman with wonderful things in my life. 😁😁
The job of the writer is to disseminate knowledge and hopefully move people in someway - I have clearly achieved this with you. 😁. Thank you so much for your concern but I assure you I am fine!😁. Thanks to Graham and Keith for the comments. Not an easy topic but one that needs to be covered.

Uilleam, Thank you for these words. The time is fast approaching, if not already here for radical action in the face of lies, lies and more lies. What ever happened to integrity, justice and democracy?

Hugh,
an excellent poem. If people are searching for an icon then Christ is the supreme example in all that he said and did. I applaud this poem.
Thank you,

Graham, it is too difficult for most to conceive the evil that can and has been done at the hands of mankind. Thank goodness there are beautiful souls amongst us to outweigh the bad.
I just noticed that my posts seem to be missing the little box with the seedling in! Any ideas why this might be?

I am not a religious man but cannot abide anything/anyone that hurts children. I had to stop reading the newspaper reports today of the wicked pair who tortured and killed the little boy!
I find myself repeating the classic biblical phrase
Suffer the children

I seem to remember Hitler and Mussolini's admirers in the UK, the fascist loving Daily Heil were big on "National Pride".
Headline: "Hurrah for the Blackshirts", etc.

If national pride is what you get from right wing politics (where there only policy is; stop the boats, and f**k everyone but the elite)
Then give me left wing politics any day

Very funny and life-affirming, John. Birthday parties are so important. I was once asked by Belgian railways to answer a 'satisfaction survey' on a train journey which lasted ...15 minutes!

No such qualifications, Uilleam, but it could be a bit of both, or maybe, as my poem suggests, he simply can't tell right from wrong any more.

Thanks Keith and Uilleam for your brilliant, witty responses. I enjoyed reading them! 😀
I read it to William's mum who said to keep it safe as we'd be having AN EVEN BIGGER Mario Brothers party next year! Not necessarily what I wanted to hear haha.
Thanks for the likes, John and Stephen 😀

Steve,
a poem which portrays life as a transitory experience, which it is. Nothing is permanent, nothing lives for ever and even we are only passing through. A well crafted poem.
Thanks for this,
Keith

Thanks Kevin-I'm actually an abject coward when it comes to physical agression.
I prefer to see the rosefist as representing strength with beauty.
The current serious attacks on our civic freedoms from within the UK are a major preoccupation of mine-I feel we have lost important freedoms through Brexit.

I've often pondered about "altruism" etc...and I tend to agree with your 1st 2 lines JD.
I reckon the feedback we get from the "feelgood factor" is important in building bonds within society.

John, what is there to say? So much and yet so little that is of any worth. I am thinking of you in this difficult pause. If it can be of any comfort ( which I am sure it cannot) Your experiences have bought to us your most exquisite writing. I am only sorry that you have had to experience such pain to bring us into your extraordinary world. I am in awe of your poetry and humbled by your spirit. Thank you for being you and sharing bits of yourself with us.

This is wonderful. It is exactly where I am at the moment as I pack up to leave the country that has been home for so long. I have found it quite sobering to have to decide this that I shall keep and this that I must discard. I really felt a connection with this poem. Thank you, Keith.

"....his history as a journalist"?
I'll go halfway with you and say as a "raconteur of tall tales"; lying is as normal to Johnson as breathing.

In my opinion the concept of left and right politics is a redundant one.
For example in the UK we have an Alice in Wonderland in which socialism is now for for the obscenely rich (eg corporations and shareholders), and capitalism is for the poor.
I'd be interested in what those "global orders" are MC; an example of Hyperbole?

I wait with interest for the next chapter - perhaps literally, courtesy of Bojo's own pen. I doubt if he will stay silent and his
history as a journalist and author provides ample opportunity for
a lively response now that he's free from the cant and counter-
cant of political in-fighting.

It's beginning to make perfect sense now-makes me proud to be British.
His Majesty King Charles the Third will have to bestow honours on people that he knows were partying, chucking up on the carpet, and setting fire alarms off on the eve of his father's funeral-charming.
Off with their heads Charlie!

Thank you Keith, Winds Solar, Stephen, Clare and John. Yes, Keith, I wish that I had the botanical skills that Chris had in abundance. WS your voice will be lyrical and beautiful. I love listening to the quiet voices of poetry. I hate the rowdy shouty voices of the arrogantly clueless. There are many here on WOL who will help you.
love life in a form that is not your own and be indulgent toward those who are growing old, who are afraid of the aloneness that you trust.... and don't expect any understanding; but believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.
