John since I have only just started writing poetry I don't think I am in a position to give a fair respectful analysis of your poem but as a lay person I can say that from reading it as it is I find it quite beautifully written. I hop that is ok?

John,
A poem which exemplifies the joy of being a family member. A community where people can indulge in the bizarre and laugh loudly. I already have a moustache and beard to match so I cannot offer a home for the fake moustache.
Excellent poem and thank you,
Keith

John, a gentle eulogy of a boy made aware of his surroundings.. Few parents take such an interest in their children now a days. I was left to ramble alone and discover. Even to this day living thousands of miles away I can name all the trees, wild flowers and shrubs of my native landscape. At school we were taken on nature rambles. These outings were precious moments in childhood as we became acquainted with the world about us and the land of our birth.
A tender memory caught in a poem of real worth.
Thank you for this,
Keith

The world is yellow and bright
And filled with stars
And surrounded by flowers
And it holds all that is good
All that is beautiful
Lovely words purplemoon
It's good enough for me-thanks for that.

A shame that idiots in high places -and in low- are hell bent on maiming trapping and poisoning our wildlife so that they can kill their "artificially reared" birds for entertainment.

Clare, this heartfelt poem brought back memories of my own childhood days which were miserable but nothing that compares with the sense of despair which is in this poem. A poignant poem but remarkably honest.
Thank you for this,

This poem and others in a similar vein remind me of an adolescent using a bit of smutty language in front of his Mum for the first time.

This poem speaks of a symbiotic relationship where each day is achieved in a state of mutual care. I recognise this from my own life which enjoys such an element of contentment.
Thank you for this,
Keith

Thanks Bethany & Keith. My problem is that my mum was a great collector of many things, and since she died last year clearing out her flat has taken up much of my free time. I’d love to keep all of her stuff but I’d have to buy another house to put it all in! The charity shops in her town have been doing very well recently.

Thanks for your comments, Graham, Keith and Uilleam.
BJ is like the Trumps and Berlusconis of this world, who believe that telling the truth and playing by the rules is only for other people, while they can lie and mislead as much as they like. Sadly, they have the ability to dupe millions of people, so in that sense we do get the leaders we deserve. Of course, thare is still a fear he may come back!
And thanks to Hugh and Clare for the likes.

Extremely important.
I remember the debate in parliament about pesticides from several years ago.
it seems politicians with a conscience are still fighting hard on behalf of the bees-and ultimately for human survival.💓

Tim, this poem has sentimental appeal as so many readers will enjoy the nostalgia of receiving such a gift. Time passes and we are the inheritors of such kindness and joy. What to do with it? A glass cabinet with other such trophies of life, I think is best.
Thank you for this poem.

Unusual to see a non-Ukraine piece from you SG.
I’m afraid it is all just another piece in the rich tapestry of our self-serving political system.
Personally I’m glad we’re out of Europe and it will be the one thing I’ll thank BJ for (twat that he is).
At my stage of development I don’t really care who gets in next time.

This is the last poem I’ll be posting on WOL for a while. This past month and a half I’ve shared 30 poems which are all edited versions of poems I wrote daily in April. I was taking part in an alternative NaPoWriMo run by my friends Gill & Mark Connors who do online writing workshops. Thanks to Gill & Mark, and also to everyone on WOL who has contributed comments. I really appreciate feedback and it’s been a pleasure talking to you all.
