Withholding
Hand clasped firmly over mouth,
I rush my body to the end of the land,
Where sea alone stands between me and
Life, death, and the rest of existence.
Cawwing their protests at the sea,
The gulls encourage me to unburden,
Sole witnesses to the secrets I leak there,
the salt air disguising their nature.
