she doesn’t realise

bodies change,
mannerisms remain,
I watch her mouth
in serious concentration,
balancing her tongue
on her lower lip,
she has a smile that
breaks like a wave
crashing before slowly
spreading over sand,
and those eyes
still sixteen, that after
a lifetime
still notice me
