Rat Race
I wake up
My body heavier than the day before
Reminiscing of the times when my life promised so much more
Caffeine fills my veins
Fueling my days
No longer an individual with freedom of choice
Adulthood and responsibilty quashing my voice
Ambitions slowly fading away
As the rat race continues another day.

Lone Figure
Figure stands lone in lofty room
Courageous spirit born to doom
She yet presses boundaries
Testing limits
Proving to the world
She is but free spirit
Absent wings she but inhibits
Vessel with vision
Vessel with courage
A figure which none shall ever discourage
Lone she may stand
But worlds with tremble beneath her hand.
