If one is above 18 and chooses to engage in such an act, it is up to him/her as long us one doesn't use force and the like.
But what is the warrant under-age children will not be talked into or forced to such an act, averse to a natural trend?
Here in my country
Some foreigner running an NGO was found engaged in such an act . (Child Molestation)
Some kindergarten teachers were found practising such a crime. (Child Molestation)
A high ranking diplomat was killed here while trying to practise such an act on a young adult, who found such an act a perversion and an affront to his dignity. ( Attempt to Rape)
Though it is not good to generalize we have to be careful.Liberalizing things too much has its problem.
If you find it good keep it for yourself there.
I second African leaders like Museveni and Mugabe.

Oh, I don't know, Graham. Isn't the view from the bank just a different perspective to that from the water? I count myself as a canals enthusiast and I only tramp the towpaths - I've never owned a boat. Let's see what Luke comes up with.

A very interesting take on rebirth/reincarnation etc.
For me all the handing over should be done by the time mortality ends. The learning, the teaching, the advice, the role-modelling, the love, the humanity, the example that you hope to imbue the next generation (family and friends) with, for me is what our legacy really means.
I think there is an eternal blackness after death. you will have left your lights behind.
thought provoking as usual Stu.

i suppose its how i picture death. the handing over of memories, money and objects seem so meaningless. i hope when i go i give something more!
so yes, spot on, it is about life and death and rebirth.
really glad you enjoyed it. i will write an inter vivos i think.

You have no reason to be afraid of people just because their sexual orientation is different to your own. We can all live together happily if we learn tolerance.

Another poem from my pamphlet "Speak The Unspeakable" It was first published in "Gringo on the Chickenbus" (Stairwell Books) You can google Golden Toad if you want the full sad story of this unfortunate animal. The poem is more-or-less true: my partner's mum has the glass toad in question, which we bought in Costa Rica some years ago, on her mantelpiece. You can get both books via my website (they'd make a perfect Christmas present for someone!)

enjoyed this. this sort of rambling style with different forms in one piece requires 1) an interesting story/theme to keep the reader rapt and 2) a good writer. i believe you have both here. i enjoy how you write about fairly worn out themes (broken hearts and mean women) but communicate them in a manner that seems fresh and clever. also, you have a fine beard (which i may have mentioned before)

Laureate for the Ramblers' Association surely?
It's a shame they couldn't find an emerging boater poet instead of an already published landlubber who by all accounts hasn't had much experience of the canals!
They've sold themselves short methinks.

If anyone wants to know the tasks that lie
before us over this problem, they should
carefully read Tony Blair`s (yes Tony Blair)
recent speech in Washington.
Our decision will inevitably (I.M.O.) lead to some
(hopefully United Nations) boots on the ground.
If ISIS are defeated and the populations return
the problem (given Turkey and Russia`s stance
towards Assam and the Kurds) will be who is going
to govern such a bewildering conglomeration of
different loyalties. one thing that seems very off
the table is any chance of pluralist democratic rule.

Hi OLM
I love your reminiscences, being an old Lancashire chap myself, though from Oldham. I used to teach at Maitland Street, of Skeffington Road, near you, in the 1970s. keep up the good work please! Have you recorded any of these on audio? If not, please do.
Cheers.
