Mika, Don and Vautaw - many thanks for taking the trouble to comment.
Also - many thanks are due for the "likes".
It's always rewarding to know that pleasure has been given via the
written word.

When you are blessed
You feel extremely happy
All good is from God alone
Today I feel relaxed after a long long time
The !!!!!! Will be 10,000 or more on the day
I reach my destined shore where my lover stays
Hehehe ?

This is the first time I have come across Roger Robinson, yet this brief excerpt has gained my interest, particularly in his style of writing. I shall explore more.

A poem to be read several times. Highly topical. I like the use of the word rending.
It will all end in tears, sadly. The root of all evil...………..
Thank you for this

d.k.,
a good poem but I would have thought in today's world of high tech, people obtained their news from the Internet or TV. Perhaps it is a local paper.
Well written. Thank you for this

Thanks Cynthia. All water is emotion I think and I think we associate water with emotion at such a deep, fundamental level because of tears, amongst other things. When we're deeply emotional we express it with water, and I still don't know why that is.

I'm glad that I can help you
Road on happy stay
Provide a Rollercoaster
10,000 miles away
I saved it from a burnout
Kept it from the fires
I'm glad I made the effort
Cannot afford to hire...
A replacement
I've never seen so many
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! before
You must be very happy cos
They number more than four

This word picture tugs at the emotions with its suggestion of a child
deprived of what all children should have - reliance on love and
care, but behaving as if both existed so as not to provide any sign
of exclusion and unworthiness. It encourages the thought - how
many silently endure this painful experience in life?

Beautiful picture above. I'm not sure I appreciate the symbolism. But I really do think it IS symbolism. The dark berries, being eaten or spat out? I'm really interested.

This encounter happened a year ago. But it would not allow me peace to just 'let it go'. So - finally.
I don't know whether the comment is a local, 'country saying', a quote from literature, or a thought from his own mind. But I was truly 'captured'. So unexpected.

I don't think you'd be killed by lighting, unless it was a chandelier. Similarly, if your normal skin colour was lightened it is unlikely to kill you.
It's LIGHTNING ffs!

Po - I had a look at the link you kindly provided - MOST interesting.
Certainly it gives food for thought on a subject to be borne in mind (oops) about ourselves.. It reinforces, for example, my view of the effects of music on the brain and reminds me also of the theme of
a book (later made into a film) "The Manchurian Candidate". The
degrees - and the assessments - of intelligence are certainly a matter for study - especially origin and effect. There is the reported
story of Einstein attending a concert given by a famous violinist and
going backstage afterwards to congratulate the soloist and tell him
"Now I know God exists". The brain is the greatest wonder of
humanity's existence and we know so little about it and its potential.
As for my poem - feel free to use it...as long as you attribute origin
but not blame ho-ho !. .?
Brian - thanks as always for taking the trouble to comment on my material.

Hi Po,
Many thanks for that. I tried a kind of 'flow of ideas' approach with this one. I've found that if you just allow the piece to develop with minimum interference, you can end up with expressions of freedom and innovative structures that you really did not anticipate.
